It's hard to imagine that the most American of feasts is actually Hebrew. But Thanksgiving is actually that: the Hebrew Feast of Sukkot in American form, society in America was to be modeled after Israel of the Bible. They even considered making Hebrew the national language. They saw that Israel would always celebrate the harvest with the Feast of Sukkot or Tabernacles. The Feast of Tabernacles, which always occurred in the autumn was when Israel would give thanks to God for all its blessings. So Thanksgiving is really a Jewish holiday - the Feast of Sukkot on American soil. The point is Thanksgiving is not only a traditional American holiday - it's Biblical. It's ordained by God, for all those who are Jewish in spirit, children of Abraham - and not just as a holiday but as a way of life. The evidence of having received a gift is the giving of thanks. So if you've received salvation your life has to be one big thanksgiving. As it is written, in everything give thanks. Give thanks in everything and every day of your life will become a holiday.
From Message #1134 - The Heavenly Feast
Celebrate the Feast of Thanksgiving and the Feast of Sukkot - by taking account of all your blessings and give thanks to God.
