THE JEZEBEL, NABOTH, AND ELIJAH MYSTERY

Shalom, to you my Friend and Co-Minister in the Great Commission...
   The Book of 1 Kings gives the account of how the evil queen Jezebel plotted and carried out the execution of the man Naboth, who resisted the will of her husband Ahab, by not giving him his vineyard.
   The entire story is in perfect accord with what we know about Jezebel's life and nature. She was in no way hesitant to murder those who stood against her will and plans. That especially meant the prophets of God, the people of God, and those who upheld the ways of God and resisted her agenda. We also know, from the words of Jehu as recorded in 2 Kings, that Jezebel practiced witchcraft. What could all this have to do with the present moment and America? And what could it have to do with each of us and our calling in this hour?
   One of the strangest elements in the story of Charlie Kirk's assassination involved witches. Shortly before he was assassinated, a woman posted an article online in which she revealed that she had paid witches to place a curse on Charlie Kirk. The witches performed ceremonies including taking a photograph of Kirk and burning it. The woman who wrote the article even mentioned Kirk's upcoming event at the college in Utah. Two days after the article went up, Charlie Kirk was assassinated.
   Of course, it could have only happened if God allowed it, but it does show the spiritual warfare involved. And, beyond that, was another striking element. The woman who paid the witches to curse Charlie Kirk worked for an organization called Jezebel. Jezebel was linked to witchcraft, to scheming against those who opposed her agenda, and to causing the execution of the righteous. Further, Naboth was executed not in, but near his vineyard. Next to the site in which Charlie Kirk was executed was the town called Vineyard.
   What does the mystery have to do with us? In the story of Jezebel and Naboth, there is one figure who stands against Jezebel's evil and prevails-Elijah. And so if we are living in the days of Jezebel and Naboth, then we must also be living in the days of Elijah. Who is Elijah? It is to be us. That is our calling from God for this prophetic moment. We are to stand against the present darkness-uncompromised, strong, with prayer, faith, zeal, courage, boldness, and godliness. For if we sing, These are the days of Elijah, it is time that we become the Elijahs of the day! Make that your aim. And may God greatly bless you this month as you do! And let's change history!
